Pal Joey is a wonderful, kind, responsive 19 year old paint horse. His only problem is cribbing. Cribbing is a repetitive compulsive activity where the horse places his upper incisor teeth on a hard object, e.g., fence, stall door, water trough, and pulls back. The cause for cribbing is unknown, but staff at Milford Animal Hospital believe anxiety may play a role. To test our theory, we are administering CBD oil (made from the hemp plant) twice daily for 30 days and measuring the amount of time Joey spends cribbing.
