Grand Slam

Maeve said Slam was limping when she brought him in from the pasture. His hind leg was swollen and she was worried Slam had a bowed tendon (a severe form of tendinitis). In fact, Slam had a subsolar abscess – an infection in the foot below the sole. We opened the sole to allow drainage, applied a drawing salve and administered antibiotics and anti-inflammatories. In a few days, Slam was running fast and free.
